0ur Story
Established in 2019, Qasid – The Literary Society of Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Management and Research, New Delhi, was born out of a shared vision to nurture literary talent, with the unwavering support of faculty mentors and the enthusiasm of its founding members. What started as a small initiative has now grown into a vibrant platform that celebrates creative expression across languages and genres.
Qasid is more than just a literary society—it’s a community of poets, writers, speakers, debaters, artists, and literature lovers who come together to create, express, and inspire. Through its diverse events, Qasid aims to encourage critical thinking, promote Indian languages, and provide students with opportunities to showcase their talents both on stage and through the written word.

Over the years, Qasid has organized numerous memorable events and competitions:
Alfaaz : Open Mic: A stage for budding performers—poets, storytellers, stand-up artists, and musicians—to share their words and emotion.
Trivia: Engaging and interactive games and quizzes that celebrate classic and contemporary literature.
Expression Express: A one-minute extempore-style competition that tests spontaneity, clarity, and expression under pressure.
These events not only boost confidence but also create a strong literary culture within the college.
CELEBRATING HINDI: “OUR LANGUAGE, OUR IDENTITY “
One of the most cherished and defining aspects of Qasid is its unwavering commitment to celebrating the Hindi language through grand poetic expressions and creative platforms.
Every year, Qasid commemorates Hindi Diwas (14th September) and Vishwa Hindi Diwas (10th January) with events that blend tradition, literary excellence, and youthful expression.
📜 Kavi Sammelan: Voices That Echo
At the heart of these celebrations is the Kavi Sammelan, where renowned and celebrated poets from across the country are invited to perform on stage. Their presence not only elevates the event but also inspires students through powerful verses that reflect the beauty, wit, and depth of the Hindi language.
The auditorium echoes with applause as these poets bring to life a range of emotions—from satire to patriotism, from love to social issues—through their eloquent poetry.
🎙 Open Mic Competition: A Stage for Emerging Voices
Complementing the Kavi Sammelan is Qasid’s Open Mic Poetry Competition, where students from across the college are invited to showcase their poetic talent. This event becomes a vibrant stage for young voices to express their thoughts, feelings, and creativity—be it through nazms, kavitas, or spoken word performances.
Every performance reflects the passion and potential that lies within the youth, while also strengthening their confidence and stage presence.
